Dear Families,
It has been a very short week at school, but also a very busy one!
We have been focusing on the theme of Orange Shirt Day in our lessons and learning activities. In Language Arts we listened to songs and stories that are connected to Indigenous and Métis culture, and we also made bannock! Making bannock allowed the students the opportunity to read a recipe, measure ingredients and practice their mixing skills. It was a really fun way to bring the Indigenous culture into our classroom while we practiced our literacy and life skills.
The students also had the opportunity to try Alien Inline Skating! It was great to see the students exploring the roller blading equipment, watch their friends practice, and try skating for themselves! They were all so brave and enjoyed in-line skating with the help of a teacher. After a bit of practice, a few of our friends were even able to skate all on their own!
We wrapped up the week with music class and science. We explored water and experimented with items that sink or float. It was messy and very splashy, but also a great learning opportunity.

To complete these forms:
1 | sign in to your MyCBE account
2 | click on the SchoolEngage icon
3 | select the form and click on the blue box to open and review.
4 | complete or review and update the form
5 | click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
Lost & Found Items
A number of items are in the Lost and Found bin at the front doors.
If your child is missing a sweater, coat or sweatshirt, please ask them to come and look in the office.
All items will be sent for donations next week.
Fun Lunch
The next Fun Lunch will be held on Wednesday October 29.
Fun Lunch is only for grades 1-4 and our EES students.
- Go to healthyhunger.ca
- Log into you existing account or create a new one.
- Add your child’s information in the “add child” box – name, province, city, school, grade and class.
- All Fun Lunches will then populate – select the order now button!
Please make sure to send a morning snack with your child on Fun Lunch Days. Orders must be placed by the Friday before the day.

As you are aware, there is a strike beginning on Monday October 6, 2025. As of right now, we do not know when classes will resume. The dates listed above are dependant on the resolution of the strike, and therefore are subject to change. Schools are closed until further notice.
