December 15-19, 2025

 Dear EES families!

This festive week was full of fun, creativity and memorable moments! Each day, we celebrated something special!

On Monday, we started with the Festive socks day. It was great to see students and staff wearing all different and funny socks! We practiced recognizing and telling colours and patterns, sorting socks and even colouring and decorating them.

In the gym , we had lots of fun dancing with glowing in the dark sticks and flashlights.

On Tuesday, our students showed up with their Christmas hats on!

In Art, we created our special Holidays Cards and sent them to families.

On Wednesday, we participated in Carolling at the gym and sang Christmas songs with the whole school. It was also an Ugly sweater day, and all our students looked fantastic wearing their festive  sweaters. As a sweet treat to all families, we baked sugar cookies for everyone!

On Thursday, it was time to decorate our cookies, sing last round of Christmas songs and listen to a Gingerbread man story!

On Friday we celebrated Pajama Day! We started with listening to a special Christmas story with Dr. Slater.

Then, we danced, played jingle bells and sang Christmas song during our Music class. Today was also a day full of treats: oranges, candy canes and Hot chocolate which we made with Ms. Emma!

Finally, we all were in the right festive mood, ready to wrap up the first semester of school and go celebrate holidays and have a nice winter break with our families!

We wish you happy holidays!

We will see you in a new year on January 5th!

Ms. Veronika, Ms. Emma and Ms. Swapna.

December 8-12, 2025

 Dear EES Families,

What a crazy week we have had! As we continue with our learning groups and are getting into the holiday spirit, we are keeping our students very busy with work and fun!

We are celebrating the approach of the winter break with a “12 Days of Christmas Countdown” where we centre our learning around a fun holiday theme each day.  So far we have enjoyed:

Tree Day, Christmas Science Day, Green Day, Red Day, Blue Day, Sparkle & Twinkle Day, and Christmas Art Day.

The language arts and math lessons are focusing on these holiday and winter topics, which allows us to incorporate a lot of songs, stories, writing opportunities, shape recognition practice, life skills, and fun!

Check the December calendars that went home in the agendas to see what special days we have coming up next week! (*PJ Day was switched back to next Friday to align with the wider school spirit day)

We have also had the opportunity to begin Reading Buddies with some new friends in Mrs. Coleman’s Grade 3 class.  Our students are really enjoying being able to listen to stories and connect with students from the wider school community.

If your family is experiencing challenges with providing food for your children you can find help at Brown Bagging Calgary.

Complete this form for support and they can deliver lunches to McKenzie Towne School for your children. https://go.bb4ck.org/l/858913/2024-01-15/38fdbw You can also find out more information on their website https://bb4ck.org/
