Hello Families,

This week has been an exciting and active one for our students! We've spent a considerable amount of time playing outside, and the children have had so much fun engaging in various outdoor activities. From running around the playground to participating in organized games, it's been a joy to see their smiles and hear their laughter.

Inside the classroom, our focus has been on a mix of independent tasks, structured activities, online games, and worksheets, particularly in Language Arts and Math.

Arts and crafts continue to be a favourite among the students. From painting to crafting unique creations, it's wonderful to see their imaginations at work.

As the weather is getting hotter and our outdoor activities increase, it's essential to ensure that students are well-prepared for the sun. Please remember to send your child with sunscreen, a hat, and a water bottle each day. Staying hydrated and protected from the sun is crucial for their health and enjoyment during outdoor play.

Fun Lunch:

Fun Lunch is only for grades 1-4 and our EES students. Orders are accepted 1 week before the day.

Dear Families,

It was another busy week in EES. We have shifted our learning theme from Farm Animals to another type of living thing... bugs! Students did reading, writing, and listening to stories that all focused on the theme of Bugs. We are working on the vocabulary that comes with this topic, such as 'crawl' and 'fly' as well as learning the names of some common bugs that we might see here in Canada.

In math, the students have been working on a variety of learning topics. Some students are focusing on subitizing, where they recognize a number of objects without having to count them. Others are focusing on money through practicing identifying coins and their value, as well as sorting these coins by their colour and size.

Despite the very rainy weather, we have managed to get outside for some outdoor learning at fun. The students have had the opportunity to explore plants and bugs that they find outside, as well as the chance to have a bit of extra playground time. The Grade 2/3 Spring Concert was held in the gym this week, which meant that we got to have our gym time outdoors! The dress rehearsal for the concert also gave us the opportunity to see some of the performance, which was a lot of fun.

The rain is likely to continue into next week, so please ensure that your child has weather appropriate gear for going outside, as we do go to the playground when it is wet. Boots, a jacket, rain pants, and extra clothes would be greatly appreciated.

Hello EES families!

What a busy and fun week!

The beautiful and warm weather finally allowed us to spend lots of time outside! Our students enjoyed exploring nature and its spring colors on the field.

Please, make sure to pack sunscreen and a hat into your child backpack as days becoming warmer and warmer.

We moved our Gym, Science and Art classes outside and enjoyed every moment of this!

In Language Arts we continued practicing phonics and enriching our vocabulary learning about Farm animals.

In Math, we have been focusing on Canadian coins and addition and subtraction using a number line.

MTS BOOK FAIR

Our school will be hosting our third Book Fair of the year and it will be held on Thursday, May 23^rd from 4pm-7pm. This is a unique event as ALL ITEMS are BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE!!!

PLEASE NOTE: Students will be given the opportunity to buy from the fair on Thursday May 23^rd during the day but ONLY books will be available for purchase at that time.

Posters and Boutique items (Pens, erasers, journals) will be available from 4pm-7pm.
