October 1-4, 2024

 Hello EES families!

October has welcomed us with the beautiful weather! It allowed us to spend lots of time outside and make our learning more fun. We explored the changes Fall brought to us: colors, smells, temperature outside. Going on the leaf hunt in our community was exciting and fun! We found lots of colorful leaves and sorted them by size and color.

We continued learning about Fall in Language arts with writing sentences, matching and sorting sounds, letters and words, and read stories.  One of our favorite stories is without a doubt "We are going on the leaf hunt" by Steve Metzger.

In math, we started learning about patterns and practiced creating our own from fallen leaves.

And what a special experience was in Art creating little birds and trees from leaves and feathers!

This week, our students had experienced inline skating for the first time! We loved watching everyone trying their best, making efforts, learning new skills, but mostly smiling and laughing all the way, even when falling!  What an amazing experience! We will continue practicing our skating skills next week too.
In the meantime, our regular gym will be outside. Please wear weather appropriate clothes every day.
