Hello Families,
This week, our school marked a very important occasion—Remembrance Day. On November 11th, we took time to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom. In our school, we held a special assembly to honour the men and women who have served in the military, past and present. The ceremony was a meaningful moment for all of us to remember this day's significance and show gratitude for the peace we enjoy today.
In Mathematics, we continued to explore the concepts of "greater than" and "less than."
In Language Arts, we focused on the creative expression of feelings and thoughts. One activity involved writing an acrostic poem using the word "REMEMBRANCE." It was a great way for us to put our thoughts into words and reflect on the meaning of the day in a personal way.
We also played Remembrance Day matching games, where we matched pictures and words related to the history of Remembrance Day, such as poppies, soldiers, and war memorials. These games helped reinforce our learning while making it fun and interactive.
Finally, we had a chance to do some Remembrance Day crafts. This craft activity allowed us to express our creativity while remembering the significance of the red poppy as a symbol of remembrance.
