 Hello EES families!

We were very excited to see everyone back after Spring Break! 

Rejuvenated and rested, we started this week with learning about seasons and weather changes Spring brings to us. Having snowfalls during these days and seeing it melting during the day, helped us fully experience the beauty of Spring season:)!

In Science, we learned about seasons, the changes in Nature and weather, and  tried to recreate rain in the jar after learning about water cycle.

In Language arts, we enriched our vocabulary with some new words such as "seasons", "cycle", "showers", names of seasons. We learned how to describe weather using "It is .... today" sentences.

In phonics, students learned digraphs Sh and Ch and found them in different words. Here is the link for the song we listen to this week: 

In Math, we expanded our number bonds knowledge to number 10. We worked on memorizing facts and practicing making number 10 using different manipulatives. The most fun we had popping in to 10 using pop in bases 10 and completing math equations on paper. 

In Art, after enjoying lots of paddles outside, we decided to bring some to the classroom! So, we created paddles with paint and sponges.

We would like to invite parents to submit photos of their child for the yearbook by emailing them to yearbook@mtsparents.com. Submissions can include pictures from the first day of school, Terry Fox Run, Halloween Dance, Tropical Beach Day etc.

Fun Lunch

The next Fun Lunch will be on Wednesday, April 30.

Fun Lunch is only for grades 1-4 and our EES students. 

• Go to healthyhunger.ca
• Log into you existing account or create a new one.
• Add your child’s information in the “add child” box – name, province, city, school, grade and class.
• All Fun Lunches will then populate – select the order now button!

Please make sure to send a morning snack with your child on Fun Lunch Days.

**The cut off date to place an order is the Friday before the Fun Lunch.
