Dear Families,
It has been a busy and meaningful week in our
classroom, and with the long weekend ahead, I hope everyone takes the chance to
rest and recharge.
This week, our school came together for a special
assembly as part of Truth and Reconciliation. We reflected on the importance of
learning from the past and building a better future together. Many of us wore
orange shirts to show our respect and support. It was wonderful to see the
spirit of unity in our school community.
In Language Arts, we read Smiles So Big by
Sunshine Tenasco, an Indigenous author. The story presented opportunities for
us to think and talk about kindness, confidence, and celebrating who we are.
This tied in beautifully with our social-emotional learning, as we continue to
practice understanding our own feelings and recognizing the feelings of others.
In Math, we have been working on addition and subtraction. The students are practicing different strategies to help build a strong foundation and confidence in their number sense.
