Dear EES Families,
What a beautiful week we had! The lovely weather made our days even more enjoyable, and we had some extra excitement with Photo Day! The students were excited to have their school photos taken, especially those experiencing this special milestone for the very first time.
Every week, we visit our school library. Reading books is one of our favourite activities!
Language Arts
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we spent the week exploring the meaning and traditions of this holiday. Through stories, songs, and hands-on activities, we learned some new and reviewed already known Thanksgiving vocabulary. We practiced typing familiar and new words, as well as sentences. We also talked about Thanksgiving traditions, including gathering with family for a special dinner and sharing a meal together.
Math
In Math, we explored the concepts of equal and unequal and practiced counting by 1s, 2s, and 5s. As always, games and hands-on activities were a big hit! They gave us fun opportunities to practice our number skills, recognize patterns, and learn new mathematical concepts in a fun way.
Life Skills
Last week, we learned how to set the table, and this week we continued building our kitchen skills by practicing how to clean up after a meal and wash the dishes. These are such important everyday skills, and we are learning how to be helpful and more independent during mealtimes. We are getting ready to be wonderful little helpers at our own family Thanksgiving dinners!
Music and Art
Fall and Thanksgiving were the main themes of our Music and Art activities this week! We enjoyed exploring seasonal changes through creative and engaging activities. One of our favorite moments was splatting pumpkins while listening to “Five Perfect Pumpkins” by Stephanie Leavell! It was a wonderful combination of music, movement, creativity, and sensory fun.

A Gentle Reminder ๐
As we head into the colder months, we kindly ask families to keep children at home when they are feeling unwell. Resting at home helps your child recover and helps protect our classroom community by preventing the spread of illness. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep everyone healthy!
As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend, we are grateful for all the wonderful moments we share with our students and for the opportunity to watch them learn, grow, and celebrate their achievements every day.
Wishing all our families a happy and relaxing Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and special moments together!
Happy Thanksgiving from your classroom team! ๐งก
