Hello Families,

We had a great week in our EES classes, diving into our Winter Wonderland theme with so many fun activities in Language Arts, Math, and Science!

We started with the story of Jack Frost, and worked together to create a "predictable chart" about the story, reinforcing their reading and understanding in a really interactive way.

In Science, we explored the idea of hot and cold by doing a fun experiment with snow, and ice pop. The students loved watching how the cold snow and frozen ice melted and changed, and it gave them a hands-on way to learn about temperature and materials.

Our week was also full of creative activities, like winter-themed crafts and sensory play. The children had a blast making snowflakes and snowmen, and they really enjoyed playing with artificial snow in our sensory bin. It was a wonderful way for them to experience the textures of winter!

Light Up Someone’s Life

This holiday season, McKenzie Towne students and staff are encouraged to support The Magic of Christmas. 

Every Christmas Eve, The Magic of Christmas loads up Calgary Transit buses that are magically transformed into “reindeer buses”, with hundreds of gifts and volunteers dressed as Santa and his elves.  Then they deliver Christmas spirit into the homes and hearts of those who need it most. 

From now to December 18, please bring in new, unwrapped donation items (not food) and place them in the boxes located in the front foyer.

Fun Lunch

The next Fun Lunch will be on Wednesday December 11.

Fun Lunch is only for grades 1-4 and our EES students. 

• Go to healthyhunger.ca
• Log into you existing account or create a new one.
• Add your child’s information in the “add child” box – name, province, city, school, grade and class.
• All Fun Lunches will then populate – select the order now button!

Please make sure to send a morning snack with your child on Fun Lunch Days.
