Dear EES Families,
Wow, what a busy week! We have been working our way through a 10 Days Left of School Countdown, and each day has had a different theme. Here are a few photos to show you all of the fun things that we have been doing so far:
Day 10: Lemonade and Cookies Day
We made lemonade from scratch and got to practice our measuring and mixing skills in cooking!
Day 9: Crazy Hat & Hair Day
We had a lot of fun at the EES Hair Salon where everyone had the opportunity for a new 'do! The students also made fun hats to wear in the classroom.
Day 8: Glow Stick Party Day
The students had a glow stick dance party in the darkened gym with music and all of their friends! They enjoyed dressing up in glowing bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings and glasses.
Day 7: Picnic & Community Walk Day
EES had a snack time picnic outside with extra fruit and sunshine! We sat on soft blankets and enjoyed some relaxing time together. In the afternoon the students went for a community walk and had some time to explore a local park.
Day 6: Beach Day
We celebrated Beach Day with sand play, water play, sensory work with seashells and practicing standing on a surfboard. It was a fun and messy day!
Day 5: Graduation Day
The Grade 4s had their graduation day today, and so did our EES Grade 6s! All of our students had the opportunity to have a graduation picture taken to celebrate the end of all grades, and our Grade 6 students attended the graduation ceremony. The graduation photos will be sent home next week, stay tuned!
Important Information
Grade 3 and The Calgary Bridge FoundationOn June 12 & 13, in conjunction with their study of global citizenship and their Social Studies curriculum, the grade 3 classes once again sponsored an Art and Lemonade Sale to raise money for charity. MTS students brought in their toonies to purchase lemonade, cookies, sunflowers and an assortment of crafts created by our grade 3 students. We are thrilled to say that we raised $3692.00 through the sale! Over the last 3 years, we have raised almost $9000! The proceeds will be donated to the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, an organization that supports immigrant and refugee youth and their families with knowledge and information about Canadian culture and school system.
