 Dear EES families!

This week in Language Arts, we started a Penguin unit. We are learning about penguins, their habitats and life cycle through stories, songs and matching activities. One of our favourite books is "If you were a penguin" by Wendell and Florence Minor. You can listen to this story here:

Our other learning activities included: 

• Learning sight words and high-frequency words through matching words and pictures
• Writing sentences about penguins using facts from the story
• Labeling penguins' body parts and their life cycle
• Matching and sorting pictures of penguins

In Math, we continued with the time unit, deepening our learning about analog and digital clocks, practicing to differentiate between minutes and hours hands, telling time to the hour, half an hour and 15 minutes. 

In art, as a part of arctic animals unit, we experimented with Lego blocks creating these unique igloos and narwhals.

In Music, we listened to more songs about arctic animals and had fun dancing like the penguins!

Fun Lunch

The next Fun Lunch will be held on Wednesday January 28.

Please make sure to send a morning snack with your child on Fun Lunch Days. Orders must be placed by the Friday before the day.
