Hello EES families!
Welcome back to school! Even though winter weather doesn't want to give up yet, we are feeling the Spring all around. It's been a lot of fun playing outside this week. From sunshine to a snowfall, we enjoyed every moment!
On Monday, we celebrated Spring and coming back to school with delicious pancake breakfast! We all gathered at the gym to share the meal with our school community and to dance traditional line dance.
In Language Arts this week, we worked on Spring vocabulary, read about Ester and practiced our reading and writing skills on these topics.
In Math, we explored another measuring tool, the thermometer. We learned the function, types of different thermometers and how to measure the temperature.
The highlight of the week was the surprise visit of Easter Bunny! Every year, Ester Bunny comes to share chocolate eggs with us and brings lots of happiness and laughter!

Food Support
Did you know that the Breakfast Club of Canada has shared research demonstrating that 40% of Alberta’s children experience food insecurity? This means that 4 out of 10 children do not have access to food when they are hungry.
If your family is experiencing challenges with providing food for your children you can find help at Brown Bagging Calgary.
Complete this form for support and they can deliver lunches to McKenzie Towne School for your children. https://go.bb4ck.org/l/858913/2024-01-15/38fdbw You can also find out more information on their website https://bb4ck.org/
