Hello EES Families!
This week, our classrooms were full of meaningful
learning, creativity, and celebration as we recognized Autism Awareness Week.
In Language Arts, students listened to the story My
Brother Charlie, which helped us explore understanding and appreciating
differences. We focused on story mapping, with students working hard to
identify characters, settings, and retelling the story in their own way. It was
a great opportunity to build both comprehension skills and oral communication
skills.
In Science, we did a beautiful and engaging
experiment. Students started with small dots of different colors on paper, and
when we dipped the paper into water, the colors spread and blended into a
vibrant rainbow. We connected this activity to Autism Awareness Week by
discussing how, just like the colors, we are all unique and different, yet
together we create something truly beautiful.
Sensory activities were also a big hit, providing a
fun and hands-on way for students to practice letter and number recognition.
These activities continue to be a great way to support learning through play
and exploration.
In Art, we got into the spring spirit by creating
adorable Easter bunnies. Students enjoyed expressing their creativity and were
very proud of their finished work.
Music on Friday was, as always, a highlight! Students had lots of fun with songs and movement, bringing energy and joy to the end of the week.
Overall, it was a wonderful week of learning,
connection, and celebrating the uniqueness of every student in our classrooms.

food when they are hungry.

providing food for your children, you can find help at Brown Bagging
